Our MLA is neither giving the committee the required oversight or scrutiny. Simply not the level of representation we expect from our politicians.
There is however, another aspect of this that concerns me. Having now seen the footage published by the BBC I wonder if the video was digitally manipulated or did an operator zoom in on the laptop screen?
If it was an operator what was their remit, is it their job to highlight a members laptop screen. Is information being retained and to what purpose, is it secure?
Irrespective of what this particular MLA was viewing, what if it was sensitive information. Should that be recorded, what if the MLA was dealing with a confidential issue on behalf of a resident that happened to be on screen? Is it appropriate for that to be publicly available.
Obviously I am unaware of the rules and regulations involved the video recording at Stormont but the BBC recording would leave me with concerns.
